Chile regulates urban impact of telecommunications towers
Chilean Ley No 20.599 addresses the need to regulate visual impact of telecommunications towers. The approaches prescribed by law include bespoke designs, off-the-shelf structures, and urban furniture items.
Approval of each of these is subject to distinct methods:
- design compliance against guidelines (for bespoke designs)
- selection within a list of approved structures (for off-the-shelf structures)
- evaluation by an expert panel (for urban furniture items)
